CPA Admissions

Thank you for considering the Community Partnerships Academy as your next school. We look forward to working with you and your child over the next four years. The Community Partnerships Academy within Berkeley High is a school of approximately 250 students. About sixty students are admitted each year as freshmen. To apply for entrance into CPA you must indicate it as a choice on your "BHS Course Request Sheet" when you sign up for classes. Selection is a lottery process based on geography representing the demographics of the high school. Representative results of the 2005 lottery are available. For a more indepth discussion of selection, please see the 2008/2009 lottery guidelines, or the BUSD student assignment plan.

Click on each name bar to hear each parent interview, words from our counselor and each student interview. Be forewarned, for those on dial-up modems, each movie might take a little time to start.

To help you make a more informed decision, please take a look at our current school profile. We also have five short interviews, two from parents candidly discussing their perceptions of CP Academy, two from students discussing their history honors option, and some brief words from our counselor Ms. Caren Ohlson. For further admission questions please do not hesitate to contact Flora Russ or Annie Johnston.
