![]() CPA Parent Council
Presently our work is divided into three categories, community building, communications and fundraising. Community building promotes unity by producing orientations and mixers between students, parents and teachers. We sponsor student exhibitions where we can view the fruits of their (our) labors. We also do CPA evaluations and respond to the general needs, interests and concerns of parents. For example, take a look at the results of our 2004/2005 Fall Semester Evaluation Survey on CPA successes and areas that need improvement. The Communications sub-committee ensures that everyone (students, teachers and parents) stays in touch. Some of the activites include developing a student/parent volunteer database, creating email/phone trees and developing a translation service (Spanish/English). Two major jobs for this committee are developing and maintaining this website and creating a newsletter. Fundraising generates monetary support for academic enrichment as well as community building and communications. Field trips and mentoring as well as community building events such as mixers, the newsletter and website are all produced in part due to the financial generosity of our parents and community. We anticipate that every family will give based on their ability to enable the school to ensure the educational excellence that CP Academy offers. It requires many hands to achieve our goal of producing academically excellent students who are committed to serving their community. No matter how much time and/or money you have to give (a little or a lot), there is always work to be done. Your contribution will make a difference. You will also make friends with other parents. Please fill out our "Stay in Touch" form so that we can inform you of, and you can help with your child's progress. Also, don't forget to come out and join us.
